KONICA MINOLTA Bizhub C754e
Modelling the total cost of your IT equipment
- Purchase cost
- Consumption cost
- Overall cost
It features in some CSR indexes, such as the FTSE4Good (UK), the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and that of the Morning Star Japan.
For all that, the CSR report which it publishes does not follow the GRI recommendations and is not subject to its validation.
In terms of its production and products, the company has set up production with the aim of "Zero Waste" at the end and all production sites have achieved this internal objective on time and the new objective is now the "Green Factory" project. These efforts, coupled with other undertakings, aim to achieve a 20% reduction in global CO2 emissions over the whole lifecycle of products by 2015.
These objectives are the fruit of overall thinking about products and production and also continuous innovation. For instance, Konica has developed a polymerised toner technology which emits less NOx and SOx, which is more sustainable and consumes less energy, and also the use of recycled plastic bottles for the toner.
On the other hand, as far as social and societal commitment is concerned, it is a shame about Konica's reluctance to provide information on the subject. The company certainly shows commitments to strong projects, but does not provide much information about in-depth commitments.
